Azerbaijan may build gold processing plant

Azerbaijan may build a gold processing plant, 1news.az reports.

Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources are involved in carrying out gold mining in the Gedabeysk region. They have already mined 650 kg of gold. After purification the gold is sent abroad for further processing.

Azerbaijan’s Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Novruz Guliyev said that Azerbaijan does not have the necessary technology for industrial processing of the precious metal.

“There are gold deposit explorations on the territory of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, in Dashkesan. The level of gold mining in the country is increasing, so it is possible, that in the future the republic will build it’s own gold processing plant,” Guliyev reports.
