Convicted murderers of Yamadayev have life sentences overturned

The Dubai Court of Appeal has overturned the life sentences of convicted murderers Makhdi Lornia and Maksudjon Ismatov for the murder of the Hero of Russia, Sulim Yamadayev, to 27 months imprisonment, RIA Novosti reports.

Lornia's defense counsel stated that the verdict is fair and that they expected it.

In March 2009, an attempt on the life of Sulim Yamadayev was commited in the UAE. In April 2010 the court in Dubai sentenced Lornia and Ismatov to life sentences.

The grounds for changing the verdict haven't been announced yet.
