OEC summit opens in Istanbul

Today in Istanbul the meeting of the Ministerial Council of the Organization for Economic Cooperation has begun. The foreign minister of Azerbaijan, Elmar Mamedyarov, is taking part in the meeting. Heads and prime ministers of the participant-states will meet tomorrow.

ANSreports that heads of state are arriving in Turkey today, among them President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. Today he will meet Turkish president Abdulla Gul.

Later, Aliyev will meet the prime minister of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and discuss with him problems of Azeri-Turkish cooperation and the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
