Moscow police to establish ethnic crime department
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe Central Internal Affairs Directorate of Moscow is considering the question of founding a special ethnic crime department as part of the criminal investigation system. A statement on this was made by the head of Moscow police, Vladimir Kolokoltsev, during a meeting with non-governmental organizations.
Ethnic crime is being actively discussed in Moscow because of the recent developments connected to the murder of a Spartak football fan, Yegor Sviridov, and the ensuing riots.

He thinks that representatives of ethnic communities should not only be in the Central Internal Affairs Directorate, but also in other state institutes, as the problem needs to be solved by any available means.
Kolokoltsev emphasized that in the public council under the CIAD of Moscow there are representatives of various ethnic groups and confessions. He expressed his gratitude to all of them for their effective work.
