Italy’s Il Foglio retracts aspersions against first lady of Azerbaijan

aspersions against Mehriban Aliyeva, the first lady of Azerbaijan, Trend
reports.
The letter says that the article of December 3 in Il Foglio caused a
negative reaction from Baku.
The paper apologized to the first lady of Azerbaijan, a goodwill
ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, president of the Heydar Aliyev Fund
and deputy of the Azerbaijani parliament, to Azerbaijani President
Ilham Aliyev and to the people of Azerbaijan.
The editorial office of Il Foglio expressed confidence that the good
ties between Azerbaijan and Italy will not be affected by journalistic
unprofessionalism.
The protocol service of the first lady had expressed discontent with
the aspersions published on December 3. The protocol service demanded
Il Foglio apologize to Mehriban Aliyeva and publish a refutation of
the article
