Nogaideli dismissed as leader of Georgian opposition party
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaRepresentatives of the party "For a Just Georgia" have dismissed their leader, Georgian ex-premier Zurab Nogaideli, Georgia Online reports.
At a session attended by 365 delegates the majority voted for his removal from the office, while he retains the status of member. A new council of the party was also chosen, consisting of 11 members rather than 15.
Nogaideli had been asked to quit the post previously, due to his frequent meetings with Russian premier Vladimir Putin. The party additionally demamnded that the law-enforcement bodies study financial infringements within the organisation.
