Iran to invite foreign investors for railroad construction in East Azerbaijan Province

A spokesman of the Iranian company for construction and development of
transport infrastructure in East Azerbaijan Province, Hamid Ali
Mohhamad-zade, said in an interview with IRNA that the Tebriz-Miane
railway will be completed with the participation of foreign investors.

He said that the High Economic Council allowed realization of the
project with participation of foreign partners and provided $740
million. The tender will be held in the near future.

The Tebriz-Miane railway is 183 km long and will have two lines. It
will be part of the Tehran-Miane railway. The railway will reduce the
distance between Tehran and Tabriz by 114 km and the travelling time
by 5 hours.
