The Russian and Abkhaz Ministries of Interior Affairs have signed
agreements on cooperation between the law-enforcers of the border
regions and cooperation in human rights protection, RIA Novosti
reports.

Realization of the documents will improve the efficiency of
cooperation of structures of the ministries on border regions and
stabilize crime, as well as regulate exchange of legal and other acts,
informational-analytical and reference notes on practical use of
national laws, Russian Minister of Interior Affairs Rashid Nurgaliyev
said.

His Abkhaz counterpart, Leonid Dzapshba, noted that the documents will
help fulfil the goals.

Nurgaliyev added that they will consider conclusion of deals on
pensions and insurance of law-enforcers. They are working on a
mechanism of practical cooperation within the agreement signed in
November 2009.

The ministries plan establishment of bilateral working groups,
exchange of operative and statistical information, carrying out joint
preventative and special operations to uncover illegal armed
formations.
