Dmitry Medvedev congratulates Ilham Aliyev on birthday

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has made a telephone call to
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Medvedev’s official site says.

The presidents exchanged New Year wishes. They expressed with
satisfaction with the positive achievements in Russian-Azerbaijani
ties. They discussed their plans for contact in the coming year.

Medvedev congratulated Aliyev on his birthday and sent him a
congratulatory telegram, praising the Azerbaijani leader for success
in the economic and social spheres and for the rising level of the
country's international authority . The Russian president expressed
hope that the two leaders will promote stability and security in the
Caucasus.
