FSB detains alleged Daesh Recruiter in Karelia
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) has detained a Daesh recruiter in the northwestern Karelia region, FSB press service said.
According to the security service, the detainee distributed online pictures and video materials for Daesh's potential recruits.
"The suspect through social network Vkontakte attempted to recruit citizens of [the Russian cities of] Petrozavodsk and Murmansk in order to persuade them to travel to Syria and join Daesh," Sputnik cited the press service as saying.
The suspect also systematically carried out recruitment among the inhabitants of the Republic of Karelia, the Murmansk Region and the Republic of Dagestan to make them join the armed underground of the North Caucasus.
