Lomonosov Moscow State University hosts 'Armenian Diaspora and Armenian-Russian relations: History and Modernity' conference

Lomonosov Moscow State University held the first day of the international scientific conference 'The Armenian Diaspora and the Armenian-Russian relations: History and Modernity', organized by the Department of History of MSU, the Development and Support Fund of Armenian studies 'ANIV' and the Center for the History of Diasporas of the Department of History of MSU

Today an official opening of the conference and a plenary session were held. The conference was opened by the Dean of the History Department of MSU, Doctor of Liberal Arts, Professor Ivan Tuchkov, the president of the History Department of MSU, academician of the Russian Academy of Science, Professor Sergey Karpov, the Armenian Ambassador to Russia Oleg Yesayan and the chairman of the ANIV board of trustees, Artem Kostandyan. Sergey Karpov read out the address by the rector of Moscow State University, Academician Victor Sadovnichy.

The deputy dean, the head of the center for the history of diasporas of the History Faculty of MSU, Associate Professor, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Oksana Solopova, and the director of the Institute of History at National Academy of Sciences of Armenia, Academician Ashot Melkonyan, also addressed the conference.
