White House spokesman Josh Earnest said on Thursday that most indications show that violence has dropped significantly in Syria due to the new U.S.-Russia deal, The Daily Progress reports.

But he says there's been less success implementing the part of the agreement that is intended to facilitate the delivery humanitarian assistance.

According to Earnest, the crux of the agreement has always been the need for Russia to use its influence on Assad.
