Murat Bektanov appointed new commander of Kazakh ground forces

Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev appointed Murat Bektanov to the post of the Commander in Chief of the country’s ground forces, the presidential press service reports.

Bektanov previously served as commander of the troops of the 'East' regional command, Trend reports.

Former Commander in Chief of Kazakhstan’s ground forces, Murat Maikeyev, was earlier appointed to the post of the chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces and First Deputy Defense Minister of Kazakhstan.
