Putin: Russia needs mechanism for inter-ethnic youth education

Nowadays there is no effective mechanism for educating the youth on

issues related to ethnic relations in Russia, as well as no mechanisms

of punishment for crimes based on inter-ethnic hatred, said Prime

Minister Vladimir Putin, RIA Novosti reports.

 

The head of the government recalled the positive experience of coping

with inter-ethnic tensions in the Soviet Union.

 

Putin has also noted the effectiveness of dealing with inter-ethnic

relations in Dagestan, despite many existing difficulties. According

to Putin, Dagestan is a model of Russia in miniature, as it contains

overall more than 100 different nationalities.
