Iran doesn’t  set a task to press Russia on the European gas market, the Iranian  deputy minister of oil on the issues of gas production and managing director of the National Gas Company of Iran, Hamid Reza Araki, said.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran plans to gain access to the European market at the expense of liquefied natural gas, we have noplans to compete with Russia or to make attempts to replace it. We don’t set such a goal for ourselves,’’ he said, stressing that  Iran has its own market for supply of natural gas - these are the states neighboring Iran.

Araki said that currently Iran's share in the world gas supply is only one percent.
