Ankara authorities have banned public gatherings in the Turkish capital until the end of November due to a terrorism alert.

A statement by the provincial governor's office late on Monday said the ban included public performances and was in force in Ankara and the entire province.

The ban came in response to intelligence pointing to a potential fresh terrorist attack. No details were disclosed, DPA reports.
