Three Kazakh athletes stripped of Olympic medals
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe International Olympic Committee (IOC) says that three female weightlifters from Kazakhstan have been stripped off Olympic gold medals they won in London in 2012 for failing anti-doping tests.
The IOC issued the statement on October 27, saying that the Kazakh athletes had been disqualified after reanalysis of their 2012 samples produced positive results for prohibited substances.
Zulfiya Chinshanlo, Maiya Maneza and Svetlana Podobedova have been stripped of the gold medals they won in the 53kg, 63kg and 75kg divisions, respectively.
