Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev met with the former Moscow mayor Yury Luzhkov

Luzhkov has proposed to create a powerful water supply system with a total length of 200 km, which would pass under the Caspian Sea from the north coast to the Mangyshlak Peninsula.

The project will cost about $2 billion, the funds will be provided by one of the major international banking systems, Luzhkov said.

"The western part of the country has very good prospects, but there is no water. But among other things, it is a magnificent region in terms of tourism and resort business," Interfax cited the mayor as saying.
