Ilham Aliyev: Absheron gas field has huge potential

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has received the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Total S.A. Patrick Pouyanne.

Ilham Aliyev said that the cooperation with Total has a good history, noting good prospects to develop the Absheron gas field. He also said this field has a huge potential.

Patrick Pouyanne said Total S.A has operated in Azerbaijan for already 20 years, adding that the successful cooperation has been established over this period.

According to him, the Absheron field will be important for meeting gas demand in Azerbaijan. He said Total reached agreement with the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan on development of this field.

Pouyanne added that his visit creates a good opportunity for holding discussions over the development of this project.
