Kubachi. Dagestan

Kubachi is different from other villages in Dagestan due to the fact that its main activity is not agriculture, but work with noble metals. The ancient craft of metals art processing forms the entire way of life of Kubachi village residents. Even in Soviet times there were no farms, only a factory. The school here is also unusual. Children learn the basics of this craft starting from elementary school and receive a jeweler specialty after graduation. They even dress differently - local women wear special white headscarfs. Ornament, embroidered on the headscarf, has a meaning: if it is large then woman is already married, if small and delicate - its owner is young and still unmarried.
