Georgia's President Giorgi Margvelashvili signed an order, appointing Giorgi Kvirikashvili the country's Prime Minister, the president's press service said on Sunday, TASS reports.

Earlier, the country’s parliament confirmed the confidence in Kvirikashvili and the new government, and sent this document to the president.

Under the current constitution, Georgia’s prime minister is head of the executive power. The president formally is head of the state, though the president’s authorities are quite limited.
