Iranian MP avoids arrest hiding in his house
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe Iranian police had waited outside to arrest MP Mahmoud Sadeqi, when he was going home, but he “resisted” and managed to get inside.
“Their effort was against the law on overseeing Parliament members,” he said, adding the police were still waiting outside.
The following morning, a number of Sadeqi’s fans, including students, political activists, as well as some members of the parliament, had gathered outside his house. The police finally left, Trend reports.
Sources also said Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani had stepped in to cease the police mission.
The Fars news agency said Sadeqi’s warrant of arrest had been issued because some persons had pleaded against him for “promoting false allegations”.
