Election in Uzbekistan: Voter turnout at 55.9% as of 13:00

As of 13:00 (GMT+5), around 11.418 million people (55.9 percent) voted in the presidential election in Uzbekistan Dec. 4, chairman of the Uzbek Central Election Commission Mirza-Ulugbek Abdusalomov said at a briefing, Trend reports.

According to the Uzbek legislation, the election is considered valid if more than 33 percent of voters take part in the election.

According to the CEC, the voter lists include the surnames of 20.4 million citizens of Uzbekistan. Voting started at 6:00 (GMT+5) and will last until 20.00 (GMT+5).
