Details of murder of Russian officer at Gabala revealed

Police have revealed details of the murder of a Russian officer at the
Gabala radar station.


According to APA, Major Sergey Mikhailovich Grachyov was murdered on
the night of December 31, 2010, during New Year celebrations. A group
of officers from the radar station was invited to celebrate at
Grachyov’s apartment. The officers had an argument. Money and gold was
stolen from Grachyov’s apartment. The police registered the murder on
January 2. Grachyov was found beheaded.


The police say that Grachyov had separated from his family and two
children and had been living alone for over a year. Specialists were
summoned from Russia to Azerbaijan to investigate the case. An
investigation group, as part of the staff of the Azerbaijani
prosecution service, was organized. There is no progress in the case
so far.


Azerbaijani Deputy Military Prosecutor, Shefayat Imranov, told APA
that the Azerbaijani military prosecution service is investigating. He
did not reveal details of the case.
