Monument to Ataturk set on fire in Turkey

A monument to Mustafa Kemal Ataturk was set on fire in the town of Diarbekir, Turkey, 1news.az cites the Turkish newspaper Milliyet.

According to the police, the action was probably undertaken by members of the Kurdistan Workers' Party, best known as the PKK.

Firefighters arrived in time to save the monument.
