Chechen lawmakers award historian

The Chechen parliament has awarded Felix Toteyev with the Honorary
Certificate of the parliament in Vladikavkaz for publishing a  book on
Chechen history, Trend reports.


The chairman of the Chechen parliament, Dukuvakhi Abdurakhmanov,
ordered the parliamentary delegation, headed by the speaker’s
assistant, Usman Elmurzayev, to meet the author of the “Social
Structure of Chechnya (second half of the 18th century – 40s of the
19th century)”.


The author was writing the book for 10 years. He said that his access
to some historic facts was limited.


The writer was awarded at the conference hall of the North Ossetian
Institute of Humanitarian and Social Studies of Abayev. Saypudi
Natayev, senior teacher of the history section of the Chechen State
University and head of the contemporary section of the National Museum
of Chechnya, was also at the ceremony.


Elmurzayev said that the book is a new step in strengthening the
course of the Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, Russian Prime
Minister Vladimir Putin and Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov and is aimed
at preserving peace and inter-ethnic consensus.
