“We are expressing regret and dissatisfaction over the invitation of the teams, acting on behalf of so-called regime created in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan by Armenia, to the 28th International Festival of KVN  which will be held on January 10-23, 2017 in Sochi, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said.

According to the statement, the Azerbaijani community and numerous KVN fans sharply protest against the invitation of these teams to the 28th International Festival of KVN, by assessing it as a provocative and biased step.

"We hope that KVN International Union and Television Creative Association AMIK will prevent the participation of such provocative teams in the festival, that are promoting separatism and undermining the spirit of KVN objectives aimed at promotion of friendship, prosperity and peace among peoples,” APA cited the statement as saying.

The international community recognizes Nagorno-Karabakh as integral part of Azerbaijan and supports Azerbaijan's territorial integrity and sovereignty, the statement says.

The ministry noted that creating conditions for participation of these teams in the 28th International Festival of KVN, KVN International Union and Television Creative Association AMIK are demonstrating non-friendly position supporting the violation of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Azerbaijan and promoting Armenia's aggression against Azerbaijan, separatism and so-called regime created in the occupied territories as a result of bloody ethnic cleansing.
