US vice-president on a visit to Afghanistan

US Vice President Joseph Biden has arrived in Afghanistan on an
unannounced visit, RIA Novosti reports, citing the White House.

Biden plans to meet Afghan President Hamid Karzai. The duration of the
visit, as well as other details, were not disclosed.

Biden's visit to Afghanistan is taking place about a month after the
visit of US President Barack Obama, which was not announced in advance
either.
