France does not see a political solution to the Syrian crisis, if Syrian President Bashar al-Assad retaining power, the former French prime minister and presidential primary candidate, Manuel Valls, said during the third socialist debates.

He said that France is in talks with "representatives of the Assad regime," stressing that there will be no political solution to the Syrian crisis with Bashar al-Assad's participation, "as he is responsible for the current situation in the country," RIA Novosti cited him as saying.

It is necessary to find a solution with regional players and "the permanent UN Security Council members - the US, Russia and France," Valls believes.
