Nazarbayev: Astana meeting to help settling Syrian crysis

Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev said that the intra-Syrian settlement talks will create every condition to find a way out of the Syrian crisis within the framework of the Geneva process under the auspices of the UN.

"Today's meeting is a clear demonstration of the international community's efforts aimed at a peaceful settlement of the situation in Syria. Kazakhstan believes that the negotiations, based on mutual trust and understanding, the only correct way to solve the situation in Syria," RIA Novosti cited Nazarbayev as saying.

Nazarbayev recalled that the Syrian crisis is in the focus of the entire world community. 

"Kazakhstan, as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, is interested in establishing and strengthening security and stability in the Middle East region," the president added.

He wished the participants successful and fruitful negotiations.
