Funds provided for Chechen road maintenance

of roads in Chechnya. This includes restoration of country,
underground roads and the bridge construction over River Terek,
Yuga.ru reports.
1.14 billion rubles will be provided by the federal purpose program
and 705 million rubles by the republic program.
The acting Road Minister Mauser Isabayev said that they plan to launch
the strategic bridge over River Terek near Hangish-Yurt village,
reconstruct the Gudermes-Vinogradnoye and Gudermes - Azamat-Yurt
roads. Most of the funds of the republic program will be spent on road
maintenance.
Approximately 7,000 km of village roads were signed off to the Road
Ministry in 2010. Approximately 3,000 km of the general use roads are
controlled by the ministry.
Some 40% of the funds of the republic program will be spent on road
maintenance, road barriers, signs and road security, Isabayev said. A
special program was developed for village entry roads, connected with
the general use roads. 184 million rubles were provided for its
realization.
The Laboratory for Quality Control of Chechnya will supervise the road
works. It is considered one of the best laboratories in the Russian
south. Specialists of the project institute are working on designing
the road projects, as part of the Road Ministry.
The ministry will participate in the reconstruction of roads in Naur
District. Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov called 2011 the Year of
Districts.
