"The 100-day countdown to the start of the Games emphasizes how little time is left for preparations. Now we are entering a new period, where the key role will be played by the training of volunteers. 12.5 thousand volunteers were already registered, of which we will have to choose 8 thousand. In addition, we need to prepare a Baku transport plan, in order that it will be easy for residents and competitors to travel around the capital during the Games," he said.

Elchin Safarov said that the sale of tickets to the Games will start in Islamic holiday of Novruz". We advise everyone to buy tickets at the website of the Games. We plan to sell more than 260 thousand tickets," the Director of the Operating Committee of the Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku said.

According to him, the quotas for the participation of Islamic countries will differ in different sports. "Football will be one of the most exciting sports of the Games, 8 countries announced their participation. In the coming days we will know which countries will be involved in the football championship of the Games," Elchin Safarov added.

The corporate director emphasized that the organizers strive to make Islamic Games not only a sporting, but also a cultural holiday. "Given the fact that the Games bring together athletes of Islamic countries, no doubt, they will be a good platform for the promotion of tourism in Azerbaijan. These games will not be like the previous one: Baku will make every effort for the competitions in Baku to become the best in history," he concluded.

The 4th Islamic Solidarity Games will be held in Baku from May 12 to May 22, 2017, a total of 24 disciplines from 20 sports will be contested in this event.
