World Bank's new energy rating: Russia among leaders

Russia entered the prosperous "green zone" on the basis of the World Bank's new survey evaluating the stability of the energy policy in 111 countries.

Russia occupies the 27th place in the leading group with 77 points out of 100.

According to World Bank, Russia's access to energy sources (100 points) is estimated as great and energy efficiency (70 points) as good. The situation with renewable energy sources (61 points) is slightly worse.

The top five in the new ranking includes Denmark, the United States, Canada, the Netherlands and Germany.

Such countries as Romania (87) China (81) and Vietnam (78) are ranked higher than Russia.

Sierra Leone, Chad, Mauritania, Haiti and Somalia are at the bottom of the ranking.

All Russia's BRICS partners are in the "green zone" with the overall performance of more than 67 points: Brazil (72 points), India and South Africa (70 points), TASS reports.

In total, the "green zone" includes 45 countries (the last of them is Ukraine).

The "yellow zone" (countries with indices from 67 to 33 points) includes the total of 40 countries - from Argentina to the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The "red zone" ( less than 33 points) includes 26 countries from Laos to Somalia.
