Maria Zakharova: Lavrov and Tillerson to meet in Bonn

The first meeting between the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and the US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson in Bonn in the first place will be devoted to acquaintance of diplomats, because they haven't met before, the Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Maria Zakharova, said, answering a question from Vestnik Kavkaza.

Zakharova noted that the agenda for the meeting of Lavrov and Tillerson is still under discussion. "Certainly, this concerns bilateral relations that had been driven into a deadlock by the previous US administration, they need to be pulled out of there. We have many issues that are on the agenda regarding bilateral relations, which need to be considered urgently or in the mid-term prospect," Maria Zakharova said.

"The international agenda will be considered, as well as major international crises on which our countries cooperated on and should cooperate. Of course, regional issues will be considered," she added.

"The meeting of foreign ministers will be start from their introduction to each other, because it will be the first meeting. As Sergei Lavrov already said, he has not met with Mr. Tillerson. As soon as the agenda of the talks is agreed, we will tell about it in details," the Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson stressed.
