Vladislav Goncharov: we hope for best result at Baku Cup

Olympic champion of 2016, two-time European champion, silver medalist of the First European Games in Baku, Belarusian gymnast Vladislav Goncharov, speaking to Vestnik Kavkaza, said that the Belarusian trampoline team is aimed at the highest result at the World Cup in Trampoline Gymnastics and Tumbling, which will start on Saturday in Baku.

"We are well prepared for the tournament and hope for the best result. We will evaluate our chances already at the competitions," he said, adding that he intends to perform well at all the competitions of the new Olympic cycle.

Vladislav Goncharov said that this World Cup is his fifth visit to Baku. "I performed here twice. There are good conditions in Baku. I look forward to the opportunity to try out all the trampolines and the training arena as a whole," the Olympic champion stressed.

The new Olympic cycle’s first World Cup in Trampoline Gymnastics and Tumbling will take place at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku on February 18-19. 85 trampoline and tumbling gymnasts from 15 countries will take part in the competitions on the basis of the new Code of Points coming into force in 2017. The qualifications will take place on February 18, finals will be held on February 19.
