Mehriban Aliyeva appointed first vice-president of Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan's First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Mehriban Aliyeva, has been appointed first vice-president of Azerbaijan upon President Ilham Aliyev’s order.

Establishing first vice-president and vice-president positions in Azerbaijan was among changes to Azerbaijan’s constitution following the referendum, which was held in the republic in the autumn 2016.
