Defense ministry: Azerbaijani soldier dies of wounds after Armenian provocation

Soldier of the Azerbaijan’s armed forces Elvin Akhmadov, who was injured in an armed clash during Armenian armed forces' provocation, died of wounds despite efforts of doctors, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry said.

The situation on the contact line between the Azerbaijani and Armenian troops has deteriorated in recent days, Trend reported.

Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry earlier said that the Armenian army attempted to infiltrate through the Azerbaijani positions along the line of contact on the night from February 24 to February 25. The Armenian side attempted to seize favorable positions on the Khojavand-Fuzuli part of the frontline, the ministry said, adding that heavy battles took place between Azerbaijani and Armenian troops.
