Iran Khodro Cars to Join Kazakh Taxi Fleet

Iran Khodro Group’s (IKCO) deputy director for exports says  his company plans to help modernize Kazakhstan’s taxi fleet with Iranian sedans, Financial Tribune reports.

“Negotiations regarding the modernizing of the Kazakh taxi fleet which started last year will produce results following the achievement of EAC Certificate by IKCO.

Based on a contract, 3000 CNG-powered Samand taxis will join the taxi fleet” in the Central Asian state, Saeed Tafazol said, according to a company press release.

In cooperation with the IKCO’s Kazakh dealer Sunway, the company will sell the cars to Kazakh taxi owners based on a three year payment contract.

The Kazakhstan Taxi Organization is obliged to improve and modernize the fleet every three years as per rules and regulations of the country’s environment organization.
