Andranik Migranyan called Armenian people part of ochlocracy, rabble and dirt

Several days ago the Union of Armenians of Russia, headed by Ara Abrahamyan, organized a round table in Moscow dedicated to the problems of relations between diaspora and its historical homeland against the background of protest actions in Armenia. Academician of the Academy of Political Sciences, professor of MGIMO, chairman of the Scientific Council of the Institute of CIS Countries, deputy chairman of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, Andranik Migranyan, was among speakers.

Migranyan emotionally said in his programmatic speech that was spread in social media: "This ochlocracy, rabble, and dirt will dictate people how must they live in their country?! It's a shame. I'm ashamed that I'm Armenian when such things happen."

You could hear applause and shouts "Bravo!" in response.

Reaction of people outside of this union was fundamentally different. The most mild and diplomatic comment said: "Independence from its own diasporas is necessary for Armenia to obtain true independence... This is the result of a failed policy or even criminal inaction of the Ministry of Diasporas, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the government of Armenia in general... We must support healthy pro-Armenian forces in diasporas and push out all the garbage from Armenian political field."

Other commentators weren't so generous:

"People must know their traitors! I'm talking not only about this bastard Andranik Migranyan, who calls Armenian people 'rabble', but also Ara Abrahamyan and other applauding scum. They all are Armenian equivalent of Judas, they are scum and must be rejected by our nation."

"Migranyan must change his nationality and surname, his doesn't deserve to be a representative of our great nation! In its centuries-old history Armenian people suffered from their own rulers and people like Migranyan, who, while de facto being representative of this nations, calls it 'rabble'... Who does he think he is? God? Ruler of the universe? How dare you insult hundreds and thousands of young, old, educated people, who want to proudly live their life, who want to see prosperous and free nation country?!"

People also wrote that he must return to his historical homeland and try to live in Armenia using just 50,000 drams per month (slightly more than four thousand Russian rubles).

"He's a smart, educated man, but he's a sellout. He basically lives in America. Plus he's being paid by oligarchs. He's doesn't know what it's like to live for 100 dollars a month. Of course, everyone is useless for him except for those who pay him."

"Migranyan's place is on endless TV shows, where he gets tens, hundreds of thousands of rubles. I have always benn ashamed of him, but today it's just disgusting."

"Let's create a petition and send it to universities where it teaches.A person that can call people, especially his nation, a rabble, when they just peacefully fight for their rights, has no right to educate youth."
