About himself
"I don’t want the Presidency. I’m going to help a lot of people with my foundation–and for me, the grass isn’t always greener," Donald Trump said in an interview with Playboy magazine in 1990. Much has changed in the country's life and in the life of Donald Trump in 25 years, and in 2015 he promises in one of his speeches that he will be the greatest president God ever created. Almost all his life Trump was in focus of the media and the public. A public person no stranger to attention and he knows exactly what it is necessary to say and when. "This is where I’m different than a politician — I know what to say," Trump said in a recent interview with The New York Times.
Donald Trump is stress-resistant enough for any statements in the address. "There have been many bad things said about me over the years, and in some cases they’ve been true. It doesn’t bother me. If I have a fault and somebody exposes that fault or talks about that fault, you won’t hear me complain," Trump told The Atlantic in 2013. During the race he asked the journalists of The New York Times, who wrote negative things about him: If you see something or get something where you feel that I’m wrong, and you have some info — I would love to hear it. You can call me, I would love to hear." It was a smart move - to show that he is afraid of nothing and ready for any challenges. Isn't it the most important quality for a president of any country?
In addition, Trump announced his intention to abandon the US presidential salary and receive $1 per year, because in this position he pursues global and great goals - makes America great again.
Global goals
"When I look at the world and you look at how various places are taking advantage of our country, and I say it, and I say it very proudly, it’s going to be America first. It’s not going to be what we’re doing—we’ve lost- we’re losing this country. That’s why I won the election. And by the way, won it easily," Donald Trump confidently declared during the '60 minutes' broadcast. His main goal as president is the unity of the country: "We want to bring the country together, because the country is very, very divided, and that’s one thing I did see, big league. And I’m going to work very hard to bring the country together".

To achieve this goal, Trump in the first place suggests changes in three areas - health care, immigration legislation and the tax system. "We’ve spent $6 trillion in the Middle East, we could have rebuilt our country twice. And you look at our roads and our bridges and our tunnels, and our airports, they are, like, obsolete. And I think it was just a repudiation of what’s been taking place over a longer period of time than that," Donald Trump believes, according to which, the desire to restore the former American power was one of the main reasons for his running for the presidency.

Revival of industry
According to Trump, the US companies today are absolutely not competitive in the world. "We’ve lost 70,000 factories since W. Bush. 70,000. When I first looked at the number, I said: ‘That must be a typo. You wouldn’t think you have 70,000 factories here.’ And it wasn’t a typo, it’s right. < ...> We’re not a competitive nation with other nations anymore. A lot of these countries that we do business with, they make deals with our president and then they don’t adhere to the deals. And it’s much less expensive for their companies to produce products. So I’m going to be studying that very hard, and I think I have a very big voice in it. And I think my voice is listened to. <...> We’re going to have more factories. We’re going to start making things. <...> I’ve spoken to so many companies already, I say, don’t plan on moving your company, ’cause you’re not going to be able to move your company and sell us your product. I’ve talked numerous companies that have, leaving, or potentially leaving our country with thousands of jobs," Trump said in an interview with The New York Times.
As a businessman Trump plan to develop the country's economy through the use of internal rather than external resources and investments. And he aims to return the production capacity of the largest American companies in the United States.
As for the measures by which he is going to implement his plans in life, Trump outlines tax cuts, as well as getting rid of all kinds of legal regulations. "I could show you regulations that anybody would agree are ridiculous. It’s gotten to be a free-for-all. And companies can’t even start up, they can’t expand, they’re choking. We have companies leaving our country because the taxes are too high. But they’re leaving also because of the regulations. And I would say that substantial regulation cuts are more important than even the big tax cuts," Trump told The New York Times.
Combating global warming is questionable
Combating global warming is an important issue for the US society. Many prominent public figures, politicians, journalists, representatives of show business and ordinary citizens are very serious about this issue. Therefore, it is no surprise that everyone is concerned about plans of their newly elected president to deal with this threat. But Trump touches upon this theme with extreme caution.
Despite the fact that over the years of successful business career, he has invested a huge amount of money in the development of environmental programs, Trump said in an interview with The New York Times that a lot of very intelligent people do not agree with the view that human activities contribute to climate change, a careful examination of this issue is needed. However, Trump remains open to discussions on this issue and has no prejudices. "Do you think human activity is or isn’t connected? I think there is some connectivity. It depends on how much. It also depends on how much it’s going to cost our companies," Trump said.
Businessman concerned about the development of industry in the country remains true to himself. In 2012, Trump wrote on his Twitter page: "The concept of global warming was created by and for the Chinese in order to make US manufacturing non-competitive." According to Trump, public pressure cannot force him to change his mind. So, it is a potential clash point between the new president and the public.
New Republican

Experts note that although Donald Trump is a member of the US Republican Party, he does not look like a typical Republican. After the elections to the Congress were also won by the Republicans, Trump will have to negotiate with his party members, which have recently expressed very negative opinions about him. But, as Trump said after his election as president, "now they like me." Yet it will be difficult to negotiate.
More than 25 years ago, answering the question about how Trump sees himself as US President, he said: "If I ever ran for office, I’d do better as a Democrat than as a Republican–and that’s not because I’d be more liberal, because I’m conservative. But the working guy would elect me. He likes me". In 2004, Trump said on 'Late Edition with Wolf Blitzer': "And it just seems that the economy does better under the Democrats than the Republicans." And in 1999, he told The Wall Street Journal that if he runs for president, than not as a Republican or Democrat, "The Republicans are captives of their right wing. The Democrats are captives of their left wing. I don’t hear anyone speaking for the working men and women in the center".
The leader of common people
In general, one of the main promises in Donald Trump's speeches is the idea that all his activities are aimed at the benefit of ordinary Americans, not to pleasу politicians and the world's powers. As early as 1990 in an interview with Vanity Fair, he said: "There are two publics as far as I’m concerned. The real public and then there’s the New York society horseshit. The real public has always liked Donald Trump".
After his election as president his positive rhetoric about the US citizens and criticism of politicians have not lost heating degree. "To me more important is taking care of the people that really have proven to be, to love Donald Trump, as opposed to the political people. And frankly if the political people don’t take care of these people, they’re not going to win. <…> These people are really angry. They’re smart, they’re workers, and they’re angry. I call them the forgotten men and women. And I use that in speeches. And we’re going to bring jobs back," Trump said in a recent interview.
Migrants do not belong here

As for the controversial statement by Donald Trump on the construction of a protective wall between the US and Mexico, he does not abandon the idea even after his election as president. The new president believes that the problem of illegal migration is one of the most acute in a country, which inflicts irreparable damage to the United States.
"What we are going to do is get the people that are criminal and have criminal records, gang members, drug dealers, we have a lot of these people, probably two million, it could be even three million, we are getting them out of our country or we are going to incarcerate. They’re here illegally. After the border is secured and after everything gets normalized, we’re going to make a determination on other people. But before we make that determination, it’s very important, we want to secure our border," Trump said in the '60 minutes' broadcast.
The United States on the international stage
Despite the fact that Trump aims to "make America great again," he believes that the US should no longer dictate to other countries how to build their own state, because all previous attempts have failed: "I think going into Iraq was one of the great mistakes in the history of our country. I think getting out of it — I think we got out of it wrong, then lots of bad things happened, including the formation of ISIS. We could have gotten out of it differently.<…>ISIS aside from being dangerous, it’s very expensive, and ISIS shouldn’t have been even allowed to form."
With regard to the Syrian conflict, Trump said in an interview with The New York Times that his idea of how to solve the Syrian problem is fundamentally different from all others. According to him, what is happening in Syria must be stopped as soon as possible, because the constant war leads to nothing: "To look at the deaths, and I’m not just talking deaths on our side. I mean you look at these cities, they’re rubble, and they say two people were injured. No, thousands of people have died. And I think it’s a shame. We have to end that craziness that’s going on in Syria."
How to improve relations with Russia?

Donald Trump does not plan to launch a new "reset" in relations with Russia, because this term has a negative story. But, he said that he would be happy to build good relations with Moscow. Trump believes that Russia would be glad too, because it is in the interest of both countries: "They used to say, during the campaign, Donald Trump loves Putin, Putin loves Donald Trump, I said, wouldn’t it be nice to actually report what they said, wouldn’t it be nice if we actually got along with Russia, wouldn’t it be nice if we went after ISIS together. I believe strongly if we can get along with Russia that’s a positive thing. It is a great thing that we can get along with not only Russia but that we get along with other countries"

Donald Trump often opposes himself to the politicians, with an emphasis on the fact that he is a successful businessman and used to keep his word, and not throw his words to the wind. He has a big and friendly family, the older children take his business so that he could focus on public affairs, and that no one could accuse him of having conflict of interest. This is an image of the new US president, created by his official interviews. On the other hand, one can find a huge number of publications about negative and often unworthy sides of Mr Trump - his offensive remarks about women, people of other races, specific people.According to Donald Trump, only those who do not know him think bad things about him. We will know what the new president Trump really is, whether he fulfills his promises and whether he tells the truth in interviews only in the next few years of his reign.
