Israeli hi-tech vs Iranian nuclear program

Barack Obama stated that the probability that the six international negotiators and Iran will reach a final agreement on the Iranian nuclear issue is about 50%. The U.S. president said that the interim agreement calculated for six months will help to understand whether it is possible to solve the problem diplomatically. Meanwhile, Tehran itself, inspired by the preliminary agreement with the "group of six" on the weakening of economic sanctions against Iran, plans to increase oil production, which now stands at 2.7 million barrels per day. To develop the oil industry, Iran is even willing to call on the leading Western oil companies to develop fields. Among them there may be American Chevron and ConocoPhillips. "We have no restrictions on U.S. companies," Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Zanganeh said, the Wall Street Journal reports.

However, director of the Institute of the Caspian Cooperation, Sergei Mikheev, doubts the essential strengthening of the Iranian economy: “It is still too early to talk about it. After all, the sanctions have not yet been fully lifted. Yes, indeed, some of the Iranian financial assets have been unfrozen, but so far one cannot talk about a full recovery from the negative effect of the sanctions”.

Commenting on the Geneva agreements, Mikheev said that overall tensions over Iran have decreased. “It is clear that there will be no war, at least in the short historical perspective. It is clear that relations between Iran and the West are slowly improving. But it is also clear that Iran has some "red line" that the Iranians will not cross, there are a number of principles. In this sense, most likely, such close attention paid by the West to the region will decline, because even Barack Obama has plenty of other problems now. And the fact that the acuteness of the Iranian situation is receding means a slight decline of interest in the region on the part of the Americans. Nevertheless, they certainly will be present there”.

Unlike the United States, which, according to Mikheev, might feel a decline in interest in Tehran, Israel continues to monitor the Iranian nuclear program closely, and, according to the correspondent of VK in Israel, not only to monitor, but also to take action.

Recently, at a ceremony of awarding diplomas and awards to 12 "Mossad" agents, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu indirectly admitted that Israel was behind the development of computer viruses that incapacitated Iranian nuclear facilities several times. The awards to agents of the foreign intelligence service "Mossad", among them four women, were handed over by Israeli President Shimon Peres, Benjamin Netanyahu and the head of "Mossad " Tamir Pardo.

The operations for which the scouts were awarded will for a long time remain classified, but it was told that it was an "outstanding contribution to the prevention of procuring unconventional weapons for Israel's enemies, combating terror and other threats to national security." In addition, two of the four women were awarded diplomas for participation in certain anti-terrorist operations, and the other two are employees of the technical department of "Mossad", that is engaged in the conduct of “computer wars". At the ceremony in general a lot was spoken about the role of advanced computer technology in the fight against the external enemies of Israel, as well as the assistance that leading high-tech companies provide to the country.

All of this can be seen as the recognition of the fact that the development of the hard-trapped viruses that struck Iran's nuclear facilities in 2012 was carried out precisely by Israel and not the United States and Germany, as it was previously assumed.

It is worth noting that, to date, the IDF has created one of the world's largest cyber-war departments. The task of the department is the reflection of hacker attacks, computer espionage and attacking enemy computer networks. Selection of personnel for these departments is made by a group of experts that monitors a variety of school Olympiads for computer geniuses aged 12 years and older via the internet. People who served in this department almost immediately after demobilization receive job offers from leading high-tech companies with a starting salary of about 15 thousand dollars a month.
