Today Vladimir Putin dismissed Sergey Ivanov from the post of head of the Russian presidential administration, appointing Anton Vaino to this post. Putin said that Vaino successfully worked as deputy head of the administration during several years. Sergey Ivanov personally recommended him as his successor. "I hope that you will do your best to ensure the effective work of the administration as it had been before. The process should be carried out in a professional manner, without useless bureaucracy. It should be full of concrete content and promote the solution of tasks, including the key areas of the economy and social sphere,’’ President during his address to Vaino.
"I was the head of the presidential administration during 4 years 8 months. It passed 25 years since the establishment of the Presidential Administration, I was the 11th chief of staff... I and Anton Eduardovich made an acquaintance when we were working under your leadership the government. The last five years we cooperated virtually on a daily basis, and I am absolutely convinced that Anton Eduardovich is ready for this work, taking into account his business, professional, personal qualities, Ivanov said.
Vaino assured that the main task is ensuring of the activity of Putin's administration as the head of state: "This is the case of legislative work, control over the execution of your orders and decrees, including May decrees. The analytical work in the administration is also of great importance – the monitoring and evaluation of internal political processes and socio-economic issues and developments in the international arena. I consider that Sergey Borisovich started an important work in the administration on your behalf. It concerns anti-corruption areas, improvement of personnel policy and the foundations of the state civil service."
Anton Eduardovich Vaino was born on February 17th, 1972 in Tallinn.
In 1996 he graduated from Moscow State Institute of International Relations.
From 1996 to 2001 he worked in the Russian Embassy in Japan, then in the Second Asian Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
From 2002 to 2004 he worked in the Office of Presidential Protocol.
In 2004-2007 he was deputy chief of protocol-president of institutional control.
In 2007 he was the first deputy head of the president's protocol.From October 2007 to April 2008 he was Deputy Head of the Government Office.
On April 25, 2008 he was appointed as the head of the Prime Minister Protocol,the deputy head of the government structure.
On December 27, 2011 he was appointed as Head of Government Staff in the rank of minister.
On May 22, 2012 he was appointed as Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration.On August 12, 2016 Vladimir Putin appointed Vaino as the head of the presidential administration, and he also became a member of the Security Council.
He is married and has a son. Eduard Vaino is a member of the Board of Directors, Vice-President for External Relations and Interaction with Shareholders at AvtoVAZ.
He grandfather Karl Vaino was the first secretary of the Communist Party of Estonia from 1978 to 1988.
Karl Vaino was born in 1923 in Tomsk in the family of communist Henry Vaino who moved from Estonia in 1918. Since 1948, he was involved in the party work: CC instructor, secretary of the regional committee of Tallinn, department head, secretary of the Communist Party of Estonia.
Said Karl Vaino ashamed of his poor Estonian language and indigenous people regarded him warily, though he had already worked in Estonia lived there since 1947. When he became the first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Estonia, he pursued a policy in full agreement with Moscow, as well as strengthened the practice of Russification of Estonia. On March 23, 1988 Karl Vaino was suddenly appointed and dismissed from his post. After that he moved to Moscow.
