Om June 12, the Day of Russia, the VDNKH exhibition complex hosted Samovarfest-2019. Crafts fair and master classes for adults and children, tastings of national dishes, dancing marathon of folklore collectives - all of these events were held at 12 themed zones, and each visitor could find something for himself to enjoy. The festival of hospitality is held for the third time, this year's innovation - participants from neighboring countries.

Opening the fair, Natalia Dolgareva, president of the Culture of Nations Foundation, welcomed participation from Azerbaijan and other CIS countries. "Seven CIS countries are presented here, whose pavilions have been reconstructed or are being reconstructed. This is especially important because of unique architectural forms and content of the national cultures of these countries, which correspond to our nationalities,” she said.

Kazakhstan focused on dance program, Azerbaijan focused on traditions. Amor Agayev, coordinator of the AMOR intellectual club, promised to show guests of the festival Azerbaijani traditional tea ceremony, which is held during matchmaking. ”Also, girls draw traditional patterns with henna on the hands of visitors. And we also present our traditional baklava," he said.

It should be noted that not only baklava, but also other Azerbaijani sweets were in great demand among visitors. According to Dana Akhumasheva, representative of “Baklava House”, visitors often bought national traditional baked goods. ”Baku baklava, shekerbur, shor gogal - three main traditional sweets in Azerbaijan," she noted.

Leading musical choreographic groups of Russia and CIS countries performed on the main stage of festival all day. There were Caucasian lezginka, Cossack dance, Tatar, Udmurt folklore ensembles, Tajik songs, Uzbek dances and much more. Azerbaijan was represented by drummers from the Karabakh collective. The event ended at 10 pm.
