Brexit was greeted with ill-concealed delight in Berlin

After the shattering terrorist attacks in Europe, experts are increasingly saying that the responsibility for the spread of international terrorism lies with the leaders of the European countries that indulged Washington's military intervention in the internal affairs of Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria and Libya. It is believed that the leaders of Iraq and Libya had managed to contain the preconditions for the development of radicalism, but due to the initiative of the United States, supported by the European Union, the legitimate authorities were overthrown there. As suggested by the director of the Center for Political Information, Alexei Mukhin, Europe is now facing native Russian questions – who is to blame and what to do?

"Who is to blame? Apparently, Angela Merkel is, as a symbol of the successful project of the ‘European Union’ of the promotion of the tolerance programs in the EU. Apparently, she will be assigned as the main guilty person. What to do? There are now two factors facing the EU and Germany – migrants and Brexit. They determine the basic direction of European policy,’’ the expert said.

Mukhin believes that if the European project is not destroyed, it will only get stronger: "That's why Brexit was met in Germany with barely concealed enthusiasm. A continental European Union means a more consolidated policy and clear financial policy. And such a fight distracts from political emotions and elaborates EU policies, and Germany is likely to play a leading role."

Russia is concerned about two things in this regard, primarily Russophobia, which is embedded in Europe as policy, particularly in Germany. "We are following this very closely, as you know, including through the Russian diaspora,’’ Mukhin assured.

The second point is the destruction of the structure of trade and economic relations between Russia and the EU. "There is an ousting of Russia from Europe. We are worried for quite pragmatic reasons. It is easy to destroy. It is difficult to restore and create. Is the European economy ready to accept the fact that, by destroying Russian-European economic and trade relations, it will encounter very serious challenges? Effort and time are required to create a new structure for the economy in Europe. Efforts will be made. But does Germany, as the engine of the European economy, have time? Could it happen that, by breaking off relations with Russia, Germany will end up in front of a broken trough?’’ the expert asks.
