EdCrunch - 2019: from human capital to human potential

Today, in Moscow, the 6th EdCrunch global conference on new educational technologies kicked off at the World Trade Center on Krasnopresnenskaya Embankment. The key topic of the event is the digital economy personnel training. In two days, experts will discuss how to fill the gap between the education system and the labor market, what to do to ensure that higher school keeps up pace with technological development, as well as issues of interaction between relevant departments, universities and businesses.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Special Representative of the Russian President for Digital and Technological Development, Dmitry Peskov, MISiS Rector Alevtina Chernikova, and the Chairman of the Skolkovo Foundation, Arkady Dvorkovich. ”All the time we try to bring something new to the educational process. Time passes quickly, our brain, despite all its splendor, perceives information selectively. The question is what to perceive and not to perceive, and who helps us with this. This is a question that we think about every day and each time we find new answers. The main thing is that we move forward, " Arkady Dvorkovich said.

The role of human capital in an era of change was also discussed by the regional leaders. So, the governor of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, Natalia Komarova told about the work done in Ugra: “How do we work? Firstly, we create conditions so that people don’t get sick, die less, give birth more. This is a long-term investment, but it’s a very important basic component. Secondly, we are creating conditions for competitive education. We are hiring specialists and those who are capable of implementing the necessary projects. "

On the sidelines of the conference, know-how and applied solutions from leading developers of educational technologies were presented. Among the exhibitors, there are the Central Research Institute of Robotics and Technical Cybernetics, Zaryadye - the most innovative park in Russia equipped with a scientific and educational center and museum space, as well as the largest Russian online platform Uchi.ru, on the basis of which schoolchildren and teachers from all regions of the country, including residents of the North Caucasus, study.

Deputy Director of the Department for Regional Development of the Educational Platform Uchi.ru Ekaterina Bolotova told Vestnik Kavkaza that ”in Dagestan, we conduct extensive training of teachers in digital competencies and provide access to the electronic resources in educational activities. There are similar projects in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, Ingushetia, and Vladikavkaz. We are actively cooperating, and we will not stop on these projects. For sure, we will offer something  new and interesting for the Caucasus."
