 Erzia’s Baku worlds at VDNKh

On International Children's Day, an exhibition of children's drawings "The Worlds of Master Erzia. Baku" opened in the Azerbaijan Pavilion at VDNKh in Moscow. The exhibition features 50 works by children from different countries, inspired by the work of sculptor Stepan Erzia. There are paintings, graphics and arts and crafts presented at the exhibition.

The exhibition is supported by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and is dedicated to the 145th anniversary of the outstanding sculptor of the 20th century Stepan Dmitrievich Erzia, who lived and worked in Azerbaijan. "Stepan Dmitrievich Erzia is a globally known sculptor. He spent part of his life in Baku, there he worked and created his sculptures. There he had students. Therefore, the exhibition is entitled ”The worlds of master Erzia. Baku,” the art-director of the S.D. Erzia International Art Foundation, Vlada Prosvirkina explained.

"Today's event is not a usual exhibition, but also a live broadcast with children from Baku, and a children fashion show. The exhibition will last three weeks. And everyone who comes here will be able to get acquainted with Azerbaijan and Baku through the eyes of Erzia and those children who painted these pictures, " the director of the Azerbaijan Pavilion at VDNKh, Saadat Kadyrova said.

”We are working on our project for two years. Unfortunately, during the pandemic, we were unable to hold an exhibition in Baku. But today one of the small particles of our large exhibition is present here: these are children's drawings of Erzia's world. We have already collected more than 500 of artworks around the world. I am so happy that children from all over the world, in particular, from Azerbaijan, responded to our idea and present their vision. Erzia is connected with Azerbaijan, and nothing will ever break this connection," President of the S. .D. Erzia International Art Foundation Mikhail Zhuravlev said

The exhibition will run until June 21.
