Moscow hosted an evening in memory of Natalia Bazhanova, timed to the day of her birth on January 4. Natalia Evgenievna was a brilliant scientist in the field of Korean studies, whose work has made a significant contribution to the study of this issue. But the themes of her research were not limited to the Korean peninsula. She was a versatile personality, who left an indelible mark in political science, history, economics, journalism, pedagogy and diplomacy. Natalia Evgenievna raised a number of experts, many of which are well known all over the world. Natalia Bazhanova spent her childhood in the capital of the Azerbaijan SSR. She finished school in Moscow, but fabulous Baku has always remained the pearl of beauty for her.
The representatives of creative and scientific intelligentsia, the workers of diplomatic corps, relatives and friends of Natalia Bazhanova gathered in the Moskovsky hall at the National Hotel. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of South Korea to Russia, Pak Ro Beck, said: "The rector of the Diplomatic Academy Yevgeny Bazhanov and his wife are respected scientists. I am grateful to them for their special contribution to the development of relations between South Korea and Russia."
Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, Professor Anatoly Shutov, was a close friend of Natalia Bazhanova. "Natasha gave her life to people goodness, love, justice, she has always been there for people. She died, giving her all life to people. Natasha remained an optimist in spite of everything. The 20th century was uneasy, but she remained pure, honest, blameless and fair. She was a guardian angel for many people. Thanks to her optimism, faith, thanks to the hard work, talent, she became a remarkable scientist, researcher," Anatoly Shutov said.
"I would not like all the admiration of her human qualities and bright image, her sociability, her leadership qualities, to obscure her contribution to our common work. I would like her contribution to the Korean studies to be duly appreciated. Maybe we even should establish an award or scholarship of Korean Studies on her behalf," the Russian diplomat, scientist Georgy Toloraya suggested.
