Yesterday, the FSB disclosed information about the fact that it has identified a group of Russian citizens who were preparing a terrorist act in the Moscow region. The address in Moscow was identified, from 6 to 11 people stayed there periodically. The apartment was surrounded, the people in it were detained, residents of the building were evacuated, the gas supply was cut off, a five-kilogram explosive device was defused. According to the FSB, some of the terrorists "finished military training in the camps of Islamic State (IS) on the territory of Syria, and arrived in Russia long before the Russian military operation."
The Council of Muftis of Russia also calls for taking active steps to fight IS. As the First Deputy Chairman of the Russian Muftis Council, Rushan Abbyasov, stated, "the spiritual leaders, in their sermons, in their speeches, in their statements, appeal to our parishioners, to our Muslims, speak about the fact that Islam is a religion of peace, harmony and mutual understanding. But today we see that the world does not stop. And we see how brazenly people are calling themselves Islamic State, ISIS, or Daesh. And we understand that these organizations have been created for a reason. In our view, they are created primarily to fight against Islam, against Muslims. There are no postulates of our religion in their actions."
According Abbyasov, the goal of the terrorist organization is to wreak havoc and frighten mankind.
"Perhaps there is only a solution of some geopolitical objectives, the goals of politicians and the people who erase borders, who are trying restructure the world to some extent. We understand that today, in our country, there is a threat to the peaceful coexistence of representatives of different religions, of different nations. And seeing that today, no matter where these terrorist organizations are going, they try to create discord in any way, it is what we call fitna. And from the Islamic point of view, discord is the worst, even compared to murder. Although you know that, according to the injunction of the Quran, the killing of a man, an innocent man, its depravity is equal to a person who committed this evil or sin, killing all mankind on earth. And those who are spreading discord, fitna, what we are talking about, then certainly their sin is even more than a murder, as we see, not a few, but tens, and sometimes hundreds, or sometimes even thousands of people may die because of the discord."
According to the First Deputy Chairman of the Russian Muftis Council, "ISIS is trying to disrupt harmony between the confessions. That is, setting up, for example, Sunnis against Shiites and other groups. And also, of course, they are doing a lot of work to disrupt inter-religious dialogue, which has lasted for hundreds of years. In Syria, in Russia, and in many other countries."
"And when Russia was involved, it also always stated this, the leadership of our country stated, and we have always supported the leadership of our country in the fight against terrorism, international terrorism. And when this question arose, the Council of Muftis of Russia and the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation also made a statement on this matter. And in this regard, of course, our country consistently takes part in this. Not in the invasion in Syria, but in the fight against international terrorism," Rushan Abbyasov stated.
