It is necessary to unite in a fight against a misanthropic ideology of ISIS

On Monday, answering questions of the journalists of the French TV channel TF1 in the city of Kovrov in the Vladimir region, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Moscow knows exactly, who is responsible for an attack on the humanitarian convoy on September 19th, incriminated to Russia. "It was made by one of the terrorist groups,’’ Putin said. According to the president, ‘’our Western partners, first and foremost, of course, the United States and its allies, including, of course, the leading European countries’’, are responsible for the situation in the region.

He urged to remember what Libya or Iraq had been like, before these states or government structures were destroyed by the forces of our various Western partners: ‘’Certainly, they were not the examples of democracy in today's understanding. We could and should have influenced on them to change a structure of society, the state structure, the power structure and the nature of power itself. But there was absolutely no indication of terrorism. There was no threat from these territories neither for Paris, nor for the Cote d'Azur in France, Belgium, Russia, and the United States. Now, it is a source of the terrorist threat, and our goal is to avoid the same situation on the territory of Syria."

The member of the Committee of the Federation Council on Defence and Security,   , Olga Kovitidi, commenting on the actions of Russia in Syria, said: "We have used a policy of containment and strategic patience for a long time, but it is enough after the loud statements in a direction of the Russian Federation. Today we can say that the United States has proceed to the aggressive steps that require an adequate response. Many experts compare a situation in Syria with the Caribbean crisis, I think this comparison is inappropriate. Russia doesn’t threaten anyone. We are in Syria on an invitation of Damascus, while the United States has not been invited there. "

Kovitidi considers it appropriate to compare the current situation with the time of the Yalta Conference: "Then, too, the impact of a fight against the common evil, which had an ideological, misanthropic component, was discussed.  That was fascism. I would compare ISIS with such a hateful ideology, and the United States  and its allies, France and Great Britain, have to unite to fight against it. I think that Churchill and Roosevelt would have been happy. "

However, according to Kovitidi, the United States leads completely different game, ‘’ Barack Obama leaves a strange legacy to the following president - an incomprehensible war in Syria. All the attempts of the US Foreign Ministry in Syria have failed. Crimea, where they wanted to place their NATO bases, also undermined their plans. Therefore, a confrontation will continue, and the US will need somehow to work out  such a legacy.’’ According to Kovitidi, ‘’today the United States has  about 540 bases in 130 countries around the world. Of course, it is necessary to contain them and feed the staff. An aggressive rhetoric against Russia is carried out due to the election campaign and desire to make money. I think that shortly after the US presidential election, we will see changes in their foreign policy. "
