According to the results of the previous year, the decisive influence of the external negative factors exacerbating the economic and social situation remains in the countries of the Eurasian Union. Experts say that the high degree of vulnerability to external factors is due to systemic internal problems, such as the undiversified structure of the economy and dependence on commodity exports.
However, according to an expert of the International Institute for Humanitarian and Political Studies, Vladimir Bruter, Russian integration within the EAEC will remain a matter of principle, regardless of the economic situation.
"The integration is not only an economic issue, it is a political issue. When Germany takes refugees, it does not come from the fact that it will help the German economy, it comes from the fact that if it is not done, it would ruin the EU. We must understand that we cannot reduce political solutions to economic expediency. If the integration of Russia in the framework of the Eurasian Economic Community is a matter of principal, the principal is the policy aimed at integration, even in the current crisis. No alternatives are possible to be invented, you cannot come up with a cunning plan for how to connect the unconnected, and if we are able and learn to use the resources, we can mix the negative consequences, we can reduce some of the risks, but in any case it depends on how we are focused on achieving the political primarily results,’ Bruter said.
According to him, the trade relations between Russia and the EAEC with the EU as a whole, as relations with its main economic partner should be reviewed, "They cannot remain as they are, because they are in fact unequal. If energy is exchanged for consumer goods, the economy will never get out of this circle, and it should come out of it. It has to come out of it, and, within different directions. And this also leads to a certain delay bug, to the fact that all this will be difficult, a difficult chore. But it is necessary to create some new quality. A difficult chore is a sense, which is necessary to explain. They themselves do not live in the community. If now the EAEC countries, primarily Russia and Kazakhstan, realize that they have to make some sacrifices and limitations due to the situational, opportunistic position in the international markets, this does not mean that they have a vision of a common future. And in this case it is necessary, this is point number one. If there weren't this issue, there would not be anything else. "
